Eligibility Criteria

Essential qualification as on 06.10.25, i.e. on the closing date of online application form-

• A master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/ relevant/ allied subject from an Indian University, Or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
• Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission. Selection Process

Preliminary Examination will consist of one objective-type multiple-choice paper containing 120 questions. For correct answer 1.25 marks will be provided & for wrong answer 1.25 / 3 mark will be deducted.

Time allowed for examination is 120 mins.

• General Studies: 30 Marks
• Optional Subject: 90 Marks

Category-wise qualification marks for 1st Stage Examination:

• UR/EWS/OBC – 40%
• SC/ST – 35%

15 times Candidates will be selected for Mains Examination category-wise on the basis of merit list of Preliminary Examination.

After qualifying in Preliminary examination, candidates have to fill the application form again for Mains examination. Application fee category wise will be taken as follow.

• For UR/EWS/OBC Candidate Rs 225/-.
• For SC/ST/Ex Servicemen Candidate Rs 105/-.
• For PH Candidate Rs 25/-.

Main Examination is of descriptive type for 200 marks will consist of 20 questions. 

Time allowed for examination is 180 mins.

• 10 short answer type question for word limit of 125 words: 8 Marks each
• 10 long answer type question for word limit of 200 words: 12 Marks each

Interview/Personality test of 25 marks.

Final Selection

• On the basis of combined performance in Mains Examination and Interview Test, a final merit list for the post of Assistant Professor will be prepared.
