Eligibility Criteria

Essential qualification as on 21.10.25, i.e. on the closing date of online application form-

For Assistant Teacher (Primary) in Directorate of Education-

• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) from a recognized Board.          or/ 
• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) regulations – 2002.    or/ 
• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).      or/ 
• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2 year Diploma in Education (Special Education) from a recognized Board.    or/ 
• Graduation and two years Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) from a recognized Board.

and

• Pass in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
• Must have passed Hindi or Urdu or Punjabi or English as a subject at Secondary level.

For Assistant Teacher (Primary) in New Delhi Municipal Council-

• 12th pass with 50% marks (5% relaxation in case of SC / ST) from a recognized board.
• Two years Diploma in Primary Education / Certificate Course in ETE / JBT / DIET /B.El.Ed. from a recognized institution.
• Must have passed Hindi as a subject in 10th class.
• The candidate should have passed in Central Teacher Eligibility Test to be conducted by the appropriate government in accordance with the guidelines framed by the NCTE for the purpose.

Selection Process

Exam Date will be updated here.

DSSSB will conduct One Tier Examination which will consist of one objective-type multiple-choice paper containing 200 questions. For correct answer 1 marks will be provided & for wrong answer 0.25 mark will be deducted.

Time allowed for examination is 120 mins.

• General Intelligence & Reasoning
  ability: 20 Marks
• General Awareness: 20 Marks
• Arithmetical & Numerical Ability: 20 Marks
• English Language & Comprehension: 20 Marks
• Hindi Language & Comprehension: 20 Marks

Section B: –

• MCQs of one mark each based on NCTE curriculum (including teaching methodology) required for the post.: 100 Marks

Mandatory minimum qualifying marks will be applicable only in Section-B, provided below for different categories-

• General/EWS: 40%
• OBC (Delhi): 35%
• SC/ST/PH (PwBD): 30%
• Ex-servicemen will be given 5% relaxation in their respective categories subject to a minimum of 30%.
